Gladstone Lewars is a Chartered Accountant by profession and a retired partner of PricewaterhouseCoopers where he was the Leader for the Advisory division of the firm.

Mr. Lewars has dedicated much of his time to civic and voluntary activities, serving on a plethora of public and private sector Boards. He is a Director on the Boards of Mayberry Investment Limited and Guardian Life Limited; chairs the Boards of JN Cayman Limited, JN Cayman Money Services Ltd; Guardian Group Foundation and The Holy Trinity High School. He is also a Trustee for the Jamaica College Trust and sits on the Board of Governors for The Alpha Academy.

Mr. Lewars is a graduate of the University of the West Indies, completing a Bachelor of Science Degree in Economics (honours) and Masters of Science Degree in Economics and Accounting in 1974 and 1979, respectively. He also has several academic publications relating to small farming in the Jamaican economy

In 2015, Mr. Lewars was conferred with the honour of the Order of Distinction in the rank of Commander Class (CD) in recognition of his invaluable service to the public and private sectors.

A founding member of the Authority, Mr. Lewars was first appointed as a member of the Police Civilian Oversight Authority on August 21, 2006. His appointment fills the requirement under the PCOA Act that “one member shall be a duly qualified accountant”.
